This was by far my most successful project. It was a mixed media project and I utilized four different media. Each media was layered on top of a previous media. I really liked how the tissue paper colors blended the more I layered them. The addition of the gesso dulled the colors giving it a more blended look. Having my hands on it gave it that little extra bit of me. I liked how I was allowed to choose what I wanted to do without strict guidelines. I truly poured all of me into this project. It is me on a canvas.
My least successful project was my perspective project. I used prisma color pencils and the colors were not blending well. I was not able to finish the project due to being out sick. I feel like if I was able to spend more time and would have used a different media I would have been able to be more successful. This is hard for me because I did not enjoy the project in general. Perspective is not something I would choose to do. I could of chosen something that was better suited to drawing from a different perspective. Even though I did not feel as if it was very successful it is easy to tell what it is which is good. To add a positive the colors did not blend well but they definitely stand out.
The picture of the cakes was done at the beginning of the semester and the other at the end. The assignment was perspective. The assignment also had many more constraints on it and I prefer freedom in art. I have found that I do much better with artistic freedom. The cake perspective was good but was a bit stiff. I did not put much of me into it with the exception of the subject matter. I learned that if i get out of my head and stop focusing on what I am supposed to do and just do it that I am more successful. That is clearly obvious in my progression from stiff art to art that makes you feel.

The above images were from two mini lessons. One was acrylic paint and the other was mixed media. The mixed media project was the Christmas tree. I used tissue paper as the background several different colors of green and white tissue paper with red dots. The tree was also made of tissue paper. The presents were wrapping paper. The Painting was a small piece of a famous painting. I used acrylic paint on paper for this mini lesson. I felt as if there was too much instruction for both. I already had experience with both of these mediums and would have preferred to just work on the projects. I am sure that others probably felt as if the amount of instruction was sufficient for a successful project. As previously stated I tend to like to do create.
My favorite medium was clay. I love to get my hands in it and mold and create. I like the way it squishes in my hands. The piece itself was not my favorite that I did. It was however one of the ones that really represented me. It was a combination of two of my favorite things art and baking. I really enjoy being able to really get into my art and mold and create and paint. I feel like this project is a "piece" of me on a plate. The medium is one that really allows me to work out my stress with a beautiful result.
